I have a session that I created from the Real Tracks Demo folder. All of the instruments loaded up with Real Tracks. However, there isn't a good RealTracks piano RT that fits very well with the song. What I want to do is create a new Midi track, select a style that might fit the song and generate a piano part that might work. But I cannot make any of the Real Tracks, (Drums, Bass, Piano, Guitar, etc) turn into a Midi track (like what BIAB was in the early days). I would be importing the midi info into one of the Instrument tracks in Logic Pro X to get a Bosendorfer or Steinway sound.
Any clue how to do this?

If you'll click on the green "Real Track" at the top of the screen (or in the mixer), it will bring up A menu of options. About a third of the way down that menu is "select MIDI track", which will let you select a midi instrument and a midi style to use. I think that's what you're after.

Not on the Mac version I have - which is 2010.5 (I should have clarified that). No select Midi option is available on the drop down menu. I've looked everywhere. Also no Mixer - isn't that a Windows/PC thing only? Even in BIAB 2015? I can't wait to get 2016 - trying to hold out till June.

Sorry about that! I'm on the Mac 2015 version, which I use with Logic Pro. You are likely correct that this functionality did not exist then.

I hope you've tried "Live Help" already and the matter is resolved(?), but if not:
On Mac - You should be able to pick a Midi instrument for a track that already has a Realtrack by ctrl-clicking the track button and select the "Select Custom Midi Style for this track" from the pull-down menu. Alternatively, go into the Realtrack Picker for your desired track and click on the "none" button, which should remove the RT from that track. It may be that you need to do this first anyway for your version of the program, I can't remember. I also can't remember if Supertracks had been incorporated back then, in which case you have that option too.
Just because you can, doesn't mean you should! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BBox 2022 Audiophile, Mac Pro Intel, OSX 10.6.8, 800x600 (TV VGA)

Thanks - the second part of what you wrote worked for me in BIAB 2010.5.

This is an interesting thread. When you are picking a midi track in the way you've described are you choosing a midi version of the RealTRack or an entirely new midi track that sounds and plays different?

This is an interesting thread. When you are picking a midi track in the way you've described are you choosing a midi version of the RealTRack or an entirely new midi track that sounds and plays different? There will be a new track that sounds and plays differently as compared to the RealTrack. The new track will contain midi data derived from a midi or hybrid (midi + RealTrack instruments) style. The new track sound will be generated from a soft synth instrument playing the midi commands in the new track.
