I just started experimenting with Real Band after owning it for a long time. I am creating some songs with real tracks and I would like to open them up, as individual audio files, in Sonar x1 for further composing, mixing, and editing. I can not yet figure out how to best save the individual tracks created in real band and then open them up individually as audio tracks in Sonar.
Any help for a newbie would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Alan

First off RB probably is more capable then that 12 year old Sonar version. You'll need to save each track as a *.wav file and use the "import audio" feature in Sonar. A very long winded process for no gain.

Hi, John -
He didn't say Sonar v1 (version 1), he said Sonar X1, which is the latest offering.
Alan -
I know Matt Findley uses Sonar, and can offer guidance.
However, I don't see why you can't just drag and drop from RB into Sonar. Or just save each track as a WAV file, then load each file into Sonar. Be sure to set the tempo the same in both products.

Quickest way to save each track to a seperate file is use 'Track - Save track to file'. Audio will save to wav files and MIDI will save to mid files. If RB asks if you want to keep silence at the beginning, say Yes. That way the tracks will line up if imorted to the beginning of the song in Sonar.
However, I think drag & drop would be better and faster if you figure that out.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

Thank you guys for your prompt response. Ill try it right now and see what happens. I was under the assumption that only the latest version of BIAB and RB lets you drag files in Sonar but Ill sure give it a try.
Thanks again, Alan

OOPS had my mind wrapped around the other thread about Sonar 2.

Hi, Alan -
You're right; I missed the 2008.5 version. The way to do it is how Silvertones and RHarv described it.
