I should have been more specific in my post. I always teach songs from notated sheet music never from just listening to CDs. I mainly teach piano but I also have a few singing students from the dance school. The only music given to me is on CD so I end up searching for the sheet music (or trying to transcribing it by ear) and then I notate it and print it out so I can teach the correct pitch, rhythm etc.

This particular song is way too low for my singer (lowest note E below middle C) so I needed to take the pitch up without altering the length of the music otherwise it would mess up the dance steps.

This was the first time I had a go at the Time Stretch function and was really pleased with the result but was not sure if I had pushed it too far. There may be a slight tremolo-ish sound to the strings but at least it's better than wrecking a young voice. It really needs to go up another tone but I wont try to push it anymore.

Must say thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it. The more I can learn the better.

This is a great forum!
