Hi there!
I'm just trying to figure out if there is a special function in BIAB for speeding up/slowing down songs gradually. I know, that it's possible to change the tempo at every bar, but that is of course no real accelerando/ritardando...

I don't think so. You already know about the F5 change of tempo at any bar. Using the same technique, you may also enter a % change (the box just below), but it also affects tempos at the start of each bar.
As you are a new user here, you may not know you can also go to the Wishlist Forum and enter your requests there when you find something that is not supported. In a case like this, though, wait until we see if others disagree with my answer.

You can also export your BiaB file to a sequencer (like Power Tracks Pro Audio) and do a better accelerando or ritardando there.
