You have two different things going on. Tempo change is beats per minute, meter (or time signature) is a different thing entirely. I think realtracls have issues with tempo changes, but time signature changes should be OK for most styles. Some styles do not adapt to time changes, so this may be hard to narrow down.

Again; time changes in realtracks are only supported by *some* realtracks, actual tempo changes cause an entirely different issue, and can cause problems in the current version (in my recollection).
