Hoping someone else has encountered this problem and may have an easy solution.

I've worked up a song using BIAB and then RB with 5 instrumental realtracks, and thought I finally had it right.

Then while recording the vocals I found I wanted/needed a few extra beats (2 to 4) at the end of several of the verses, like a pause, before starting the next verse.

What is the easiest way to accomplish this now that the tracks are generated?

Will I have to go back to the Chord window, start from scratch, restructure the song by inserting extra bars or held chords and then regenerate all new tracks?

I hate to lose those I already have.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Have a good one,

Carkins

Change the "end bar" number by however many you plan to add.

Go to the spot you want the extra bar(s). Put your cursor on the first bar AFTER the silence or bars you want to enter. Select everything from there to the end. Cut it, move the cursor where you want to start again, and paste. A more advanced method is to select, hold the ctl key down, and slide it to the new location, in your case a full bar or 2.

Thanks Eddie.
Figured you'd know a way from some of your previous posts.
Love these programs!

There is an issue that has never been fixed. When you cut/copy/paste within a song all of your part markers are going to get messed up.

John is right, it is hit and miss. Sometimes it is right on, and sometimes it really messes up. I had both happen yesterday.

Okay so I now stumble upon another term I either do not know or never learned because I don't use it, so I need to ask for definition.

Part Markers.

Is that like when you designate what is a verse and what is a chorus? I have never programmed a song using anything but "one long pass from top to bottom" so would it be true that I never used "part markers"? Should it be called "section markers" or am I totally on the wrong thought train here?

Yes those BLUE & GREEN things you place on the chord sheet. They determine, for us pop guys like you eddie, the verses=BLUE Choruses=GREEN. I fill also happens before these markers and sometimes after. Depends on the part. When you cut/copy/paste these part markers end up in the wrong place and have to be redone.
BTW this is only true in RB. BIAB handles them fine. That is why I do the whole chord sheet & markers in BIAB first.

Aha!!! NOW I know what part markers are. The things I have always thought of in my somewhat empty head as "I can click here once or twice and get different drum fills". Those are part markers. Got it. And true to what you say, I have often had to go and move them when adding or deleting bars.

Hi Eddie - I've had a wishlist item for a while now, asking that actual part markers NOT incorporate drum fills. Make them separate.

Green and blue markers will oftentimes change the instrumental style played in the style sheets - midi and RT.

Happy Canuck Thanksgiving.
