88 cents a pound for turkey. Double that if you want assurance that all the parts are there. Mine was missing some offal. I usually make stock from that, but I also buy 2 wings for next to nothing and start the stock after browning those, just add all the stuff from my deck like thyme that's dying soon, and rosemary, carrots from out back, celery, onions, parsnips and boil all day while adding things I find. Use to make the gravy right.

So a 30 pound bird was 25 bucks. Feeds about 30 people if you count all the meals and leftovers.

Very soon it's time for my kids to take over and invite me to their place. I SHOULD get my 35 year pin for doing this at least 5 times a year and retire. Of course I want to meddle...baste it? Not yet. Geez, hand me a brew.
