First let me state I am new to Midi and have been successfully recording in RB using guitar and Mic inputs but wanted to try using some Midi input.

I'm running BIAB/RB version 2012 latest build,Forte DXI Plugin,on a Dell Dimension Desktop with Win XP Sevice Pack 3 op sys and Audiology SoundBlaster Sound card and 3.25 GB RAM.

My Korg NanoKEY midi controller USB keyboard comes with a program called Korg M1Le.
It is set in Preferences to MME > Line 6 Toneport UX1 .
Only on this setting can I hear the NanoKEY through my speakers or headphones.
So far so good.

When I try to record in Realband and try to select: "USB Device" in the Midi Input column, I get the Error Message:
Device is already in use by another program (the Korg M1 LE??)

If I try to select: "Lin6 Toneport UX1" from the list I get the Error Opening Input Driver Message:
This function is not supported. Use the Capabilities function (????) to determine which functions and messages the driver supports.

If I try to select: "LoopBe Internal Midi" as the Input Device and I try to record using the Record Button onto a RB Midi track, nothing shows up even though I do hear the NanoKEy while recording...The track is blank.

If I try the same using the Audio Record button all I get is static (probably since the track is set to Midi?)

Any suggestions how to get the NanoKEY to record into RB or if it's even possible?

Would it be possible for PG to come up with a Midi Setup Wizard which could at least get the midi up and running for us Newbies and have a Custom settings option for the experienced Pros?.. as I have read many forum problems similar to mine?

With the sometimes multiple drivers or Inputs and Outputs in the Midi Devices columns and all the possible combinations to make it work, it's pretty confusing to an old dog trying to learn new tricks.

Thanks for any help you can offer.
Have a great one,
Carkins
