The concept of OPEN and CLOSED mode is new to me, but much of the rest sounded familiar. We've seen some of the conflict between OPEN Mode types and CLOSED mode types right here on the forum. His description of how each type reasons its way through a problem sheds a lot of light on forum interaction.

If you know anything about the Myers Briggs personality typing system, I would guess that MBTI "S" types generally operate in the CLOSED mode, while MBTI "N" types generally operate in the OPEN mode.
