First it was BIAB 2013 and then I treated myself to a new iPad and I must say the added screen real estate over the iPhone makes a big difference which is why I asked Peter during Beta testing whether the number of input rows could be adjusted like the Windows version - we may get this one day.

I also bought Auria from the iTunes store during a one day special offer of 50% off. It is a fantastic, portable DAW with all the goodies - like channel strips, chorus, reverb et al - built right in. With another app called DiskAid on the PC I can transfer a set of BIAB tracks onto the iPad for mixing in Auria and adding any vocal or extra instrument tracks.

I discovered that the Camera Connection Kit for the iPad allows me to connect my Behringer UMX61 Midi Keyboard and my Behringer UCA202 audio interface. The UCA202 has RCA plugs for input and output and when this is married up with the Behringer Xenyx 1002 FX mixer (sounds like an advertisement for Behringer!!!) I have a very small compact studio setup. Once all tracks are in the iPad by transfer or recording in I can basically mix anywhere!

I do obviously have a very usable i5 based PC as my main Studio machine and a portable Boss BR-600 but it is always useful to have other options to hand. Of course the iPad can change as new software is available and that is the most exciting thing about it.

Anyway I am so ingrossed in all this stuff, especially BIAB 2013, that late nights have now become the norm and I need matchsticks to keep my eyes open by lunch time.

Its all good! I'm having fun as commanded by Peter.
