Hi All,
First let me explain what I want to do !
I want import a midifile into BIAB (2013) and use Real Tracks to utilise the those sounds rather than standard midi.
However, when I load a midifile, all channels default to the melody track and I can find no way to substitute any individual tracks to Real Tracks.
I don't know if this is possible or not, but it would be great to produce a far superior sound, rather than the standard midi.
As a newbie to BIAB I am hoping some of you experts out there can help.

First of all, are you thinking that RealTracks will play the notes for each part from the MIDI file you imported? If so, that's not going to happen. RealTracks are pre-recorded riffs that work within the chord progression of the song.
That being said, as you have discovered, a MIDI file is loaded completely to the melody track. It does not split out bass/guitar/piano/drums to the drum tracks, because those tracks are all controlled by the selected style. If you did copy those parts to those tracks, they would just get overwritten by the style info the next time you regenerated the arrangement.
One thing a lot of folks do is to load a MIDI file, strip out everything but the melody (and maybe a counter-melody or some unique riff), but it all stays on the melody track (or you can move some of it to the soloist track). Then select a RealTracks style appropriate to the song. RealTracks will provide the backup, but the melody would still need to be played with MIDI sounds. You won't get RealTracks to play the melody for you.
That's how it works. Hope that helped.

Thanks for your rapid answer, but not the one I was hoping for!
But hey, you can't have it all, so I guess I'll have to load it into my PSR-S950 and use those sampled sounds.

This may help you about what John said: you said all your MIDI is on one track. In BIAB, you can use the green SEQ (sequencer) button to sort those out, and then use edit or copy to get what you need for melody and hits etc.
Also, if you open a MIDI file in RealBand, the free utility bundled with BIAB, it is my understanding that the MIDI tracks will separate.

But does that still mean that I will still not be able to utilise the Realtracks as John said?

Correct. MIDI is MIDI and you can't use RealTracks as your sampled sounds.
The SEQ feature of BIAB, however, does give you greater control over how you manage the multiple tracks that you read in from the original MIDI file. You can delete tracks, rechannel them, move them, change other parameters, etc. But it's still MIDI and needs to be played by a MIDI sound source (such as your PSR).
Also, remember, that when you read in a MIDI file, it will try to figure out the chord progression (which you will probably have to tweak a little), from which you could invoke RealTracks on other tracks to play back based on the interpreted chord progression. But RealTracks will not read MIDI notes to produce its sound, because they are already recorded phrases, not single notes to apply to a MIDI track.

I used to have a Tyros and I would use the BEST midi tracks with the onboard Tyros voices. I would record those parts to a wave file (after adding fx and mixdown) and then add whatever RealTracks I needed from Biab.
You can import a wave file directly into Biab to "add" the RealTrack parts to the chords that were supplied with the midi file.
I would always check the midi file chords vs the actual sheet music for a song's layout.
You can add solo's etc.
You can also do all of this within RealBand as well.
