For some weird reason, my count-ins on _PNCALIF.STY, are playing as Bass or Piano notes (hard to tell which).
I have gone through the setting/preferences to check the count-in menu and all is as it should be.
Got me stumped !!!

What does the drum track in that sound like?
You can change the drum track in it if you wish. I was doing that last night in a new project.... didn;t like the drums, so I changed them.

It's only the count-in that is the problem.
There are no drums in the style itself.

You may have something other than say side-stick checked for the sound of the count-in. The sound selection is in the middle of the count-in prefs.

ovation, Here's another thought... Go to "Prefs | "Channels" and check that the drums are assigned to midi channel 10.  Regards, Noel

Noel,
Just had a look at your suggestion and mine is the same as your description, but still no change.
Just wondering, is there a way to re-load/install just that style on its own?
I can't think of anything else, even tried a re-build of the styles.

There are no drums in the style itself. I recall PG Music saying something about this a long time ago. If you have no drums in the style, what will it use for the count?

Matt, I think the count in is independent of the usual drums track.
The style has no drums, just piano accompaniment.
The count-in is playing 1-3,1234 but it sounds like the Jaws theme !!!

You can always assign a drum track to it. Click on the drum track and select a real drum track.

I tried to duplicate your problem. Side-stick count-in played. You should definetly call PG.

Have you tried returning to factory defaults (under the Opt menu)? (Choose the option that resets 'most settings' as that will leave your audio drivers intact.)

Hi Noel and Others,
I tried a factory reset most settings and that had no effect at all.
So I took the plunge and reset ALL and although I have to run through it a bit more, it does seem to have done the trick.
Will report back later after a bit more testing.
I still wish I knew what caused it though

Still got the problem with just these two styles _PNCALIS.STY Calif.Slow Sol-Acomp.Piano(85RS) and
_PNCALIF.STY CaliforniaSol-Acomp.Piano(140RS)

have you tried a remake of the file?
Sometimes something gets corrupted in a file and the only way to fix the issue is to copy the chord patterns and paste them into a brand new project.... then delete the old corrupted one.
I have had this happen a few times. Fortunately it doesn't happen often, but when it does, a few file solves it. It takes a minute or two to try. Name it "title of song B version" so you don't get them confused.

Just tried your suggestion, although I had tried it beforehand, but I still have the problem with these two styles.
Have to wait and see what PG comes up with.

Also, in a post above, you mentioned that you thought the reset had solved it. What led you believe that?

Hi Noel,
No I didn't import a midi file and the reason I thought it was solved was because I mistakenly chose another style which worked. But when I returned to either of the original styles, Jaws was back.
BUT IT IS NOW SORTED.....thanks to Kent at PG Music, it turned out I had the wrong VST running and changing it to Coyote and everything is back to normal.
Thanks to everyone who tried to sort this out for me.
