A great place to add the option would be the song structure window. That way when you are assigning the to & from measures for section you could also select the color for each section.
Taking the idea a step further, wouldn't it be nice to be able to have the option to rename sections so you could call section A "Intro", section B " Bridge 1", section C "Verse" and so on? for naming sections. The color thing would not be appropriate for those of use totally or partially color blind.
I think my wife has started to show the first signs of dementia.

Band-in-a-Box 2026 Video: AI Stems & Notes - split polyphonic audio into instruments and transcribe
This video demonstrates how to use the new AI-Notes feature together with the AI-Stems splitter, allowing you to select an audio file and have it separated into individual stems while transcribing each one to its own MIDI track. AI-Notes converts polyphonic audio—either full mixes or individual instruments—into MIDI that you can view in notation or play back instantly.
