Using the latest update of BIAB 2016 on a 2015 rMPB.
I have a short song, and the "end" on the Fake sheet (I can't seem to toggle Fakes sheet "off") has, in bar 18a "end" - but it won't stop. It wants to go on for two more bars and then abruptly cut off.

In the Menu selector up top I have Start at bar 5 and Stop at Bar 17. The Chorus Block has "1" in it. I AM NOT ON LOOP.

Why can't I get the song to end on Bar 18? I have re-generated tracks individually as well as hit the generate and play button. I do this because my experience over the years with BIAB is that it recognizes erased or phantom track. It sometimes does not let go of old chord changes and deleted measures.

I am trying to finish up a "business" project tonight with this song and it simply will not let me do an ending, making the rest of the song useless. I have had trouble with endings ever since installing version 2016. The last time endings worked even little it cut the ending off abruptly like a 0.5 second fade. THAT IS, BIAB IS GENERATING AUTOMATIC FADES ON ENDINGS EVEN THOUGH I HAVE FADES DISABLED!
I have always had problems with BIAB endings, but in version 2015 they really got better. Now that are messed up again? I am thinking I have to go back to BIAB 2015 to get this song finished for a client. HELP!
OH, IF YOU WANT TO TRY WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT - the Style I am using is _FPBTACS.STY - - is is possible this 2011-2012 Style just is not compatible with v. 2016 for endings? Type in a few bars and try to end it with something satisfying. I bet you can't.

I use BIAB 2016 PC version and don't know how that correlates to MAC but I created a 12 bar 'song' with your style and 2 bar 'end' button checked and a I,IV,V progression. It replicates your findings as follows:
with style A (blue marker) The last chord is a V at bar 11. Bar 12 is blank and End is I. continues for a bar and does not end abruptly but each instrument ends at different times with guitar 2 extending beyond the other instruments.
with style B (green marker) The same ending results as style A, just different musical notes.

Removing the ending and placing a hold at bar 12 (ie: c...) resulted in a uniform single strumming of all instruments with the stum fading. The results of using the hold were the same regardless of what chord or chords were placed in bar 11. They were also the same if bar 11 was blank.

With bar 12 having chord or chords without a hold, the ending was abrupt the same as your results.

Suggestions:

Place a hold on your last bar or
Generate an ending or
Add additional bars to the end and fade your outro.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. Since you were able to replicate the problem then I am going to try to stop "fixing" it.
Your idea of removing the ending and doing the "Hold..." does result in a final strum. I can bring this into my Logic Pro X session and edit this in for an ending.
I hope that a PB engineer will take a look at this and let me (us) know if this problem is only with this particular style and if related to coding in BIAB v.2016.0.127.
I am going to fire up my old Mac with Snow Leopard later and see if this problem occurs in BIAB 2015.

To toggle Fakesheet mode on/off, you click on the Fakesheet button in the bottom Views toolbar and select the first menu item.

I tried out that style (_FPBTACS.STY) using the 5 - 17 - 1 song form, and I DO get a really nice 4 bar ending, starting at bar 18.

If you click on the Song Settings button, what are your Ending settings?

Perhaps this has to do with the chord you are using in the Ending bar. Try key of C, with a Cmaj chord in the ending bar - then do you get a nice ending?

Andrew - First, I have had a problem with the Fake sheet display since installing BIAB 2016. Whether I "check" or uncheck the Fake sheet Icon in the Views Menu bar I ALWAYS AND ONLY get Fake Sheet mode displayed. I have a repeat of bars 5-17 and in the box for Bar 17 it says 6x. But whether I play the song with Fake Sheet Mode enabled or disabled the screen does not change nor does it operate like it does in the video you just published for instructional purposes.

I re-gererated my song in a new window to get rid of any "ghosts" or "stubborn memory chords in cells and I still get a horrid ending. Sometimes it just goes on and on past the indicated end of the song and sometimes it just does an instant fade.

IS IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO ATTACH OR SEND MY FILE TO PG SO YOU CAN SEE IF YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE WITH IT THAN ME? That is, can I send you my .SGU file? I don't see a file attach option on this forum. If you give me an email address I could attach it.

Kevin,

Send it to support@pgmusic.com and in the subject put "Attn Andrew: as per Mac forum, Fake Sheet Mode Issue"

In the body of the email include the URL to this thread.

Also, before sending, it's usually a good idea to generate the song, play it through and make sure that the problem is present and then freeze all tracks prior to attaching the SGU to an email.

Regards,
Noel
