In the manual it says that you can only put a midi melody on the solo and melody tracks. Unfortunately, I need those tracks to send commands to my external midi units. What I discovered last night is that you can actually move a midi melody line to any track and provided you freeze it, it will not regenerate which would, of course, destroy it. I rarely use the strings track in BIAB, so I can move midi melody lines etc to that track. I'll put a video up of the whole process of deleting, moving and copying tracks using the sequencer button in BIAB and combining a midi track with real tracks in a couple of days hopefully. I think this could be quite a useful option for some on the forum.

I've only had limited success copying / moving MIDI from the melody track to other tracks and sometimes although the events / notes are showing, there's no sound.
I've usually overcome this by using RealBand instead but if there's a good way to do it in BIAB then I'm certainly up for learning that.
OK, I went to make the video of doing this and it won't work now! Same problem as Mike, no sound and doesn't appear to copy/move anything over. Not sure why? Perhaps PGMusic can clarify it.
I'll put a video here, to show that it did work on this one! Again, change the extension from .jpg to .avi

Thank you! You inspired me to do a bit of playing around to see if it's possible to move midi melody from either the Melody track or the Soloist track and put it on (say) the String track. I always like going on voyages of discovery!
It can be done. Give me a couple of days and I'll write a post for the "Tips and Tricks" forum that explains how I did it.
