Doc Severinsen (many times;there's a pic somewhere of me on his lap when I was a young)

Jean Luc-Ponty (maybe 4 times or so)
King Crimson
Smashing Pumpkins (including when they were local competition)
The Cure
Bruford
Allan Holdsworth
Mark Colby
Mongo Santamaria
Tower of Power
Victor Borge
I'm sure there's more .. been a while since I've seen anyone worth mentioning though. What happened to good live music with real musicians?
As a side note after a few Maynard shows, all the Severinsen shows and a couple of the others I had backstage access .. I like to think I was born lucky (mainly due to my parents).
Walking around at various times with Doc, Maynard, Steve Gadd, Allen Zavod, Bill Chase, Mark Colby (among others) .. this thread brings back some pretty cool memories; thanks!
/I've been told I saw Bill Chase twice, the first time when he was featured as Maynard's protege, but I was too young to really recall that one now. <grin>

Never saw them, but I'm a big Chase fan. Have all three albums on vinyl (and in multiple iterations - I even have a quadrophonic version of the first album, but nothing to properly play it on) and it was so sad that we lost this talent.
I have always found it interesting that the first song on the first album was "Open Up Wide" and the last song on the last album was "Close Up Tight".
Kinda weird.

Yes, there were many unique/interesting things about Bill Chase and his career.
I often wonder about Survivor
Jim Peterik got involved with the band late and avoided that fateful flight .. was that the foundation for the band name?
FWIW I also have one of the Jet-Tone Chase mouthpieces from back in the day.
Also have a David Stahl one.. and a couple Maynard ones.
After reading about their mouthpieces years ago I had Schilke make a 'rharv' mouthpiece .. I think it was 6b4a if I recall .. if that means anything <grin>.
