You can make the bass play whichever note you want by entering the chord as a slash chord. For instance c/e says to play a "C" chord and for the bass instrument to play an "E" note.
If you need the bass to play eighth notes you would need to: 1) add a bar (so you can enter eight slash chords in the time four chords are normally played), 2) double the tempo for the original bar and added bar, 3) enter the slash chords and 4) reset the tempo to normal in the bar that follows your new entry.
