I currently have a computer set up specifically for music including BIAB 2009.5

Hi,

I know some recording studios set "turn key" computers for audio only. Aside of my laptop which I only use for outside field action, I have one desk computer with triple separate OS installed in a 500 GB hard disk ( I make a full backup of this main hard disk) In partition A I have Windows Xp32(x86) SP3 as my main " for everything" OS, it contain all I need for a daily basis working on audio, browsing and office related task. This system work so great in a 97% (because any OS is perfect) all the time. I have Band in a box, all Real Tracks/Drums, Real Band and packs, lot of audio/MIDI software (in two separate 500 GB hard disk) which I use in professional and home recording enviroment absolutly flawless. In Partition B there is another Windows XP 32(x86) SP3 devoted exclusively to audio professional for my studio commercial activities, there are also some very basic applications for home and basic internet use which IMO are a must and necessary even in devoted audio PC enviroments because many audio and musical applications need of the internet online interactivity for updates, upgrades, hardware and device drivers revision, libraries and many more. In partion C is Windows 7 64bits which I am testing for 64 bits audio applications only.
Operative Systems for Audio, including internet onboard, will not suffer any kind of damage or badfunction risk if users maintain an healthy and secure use of internet and periodical system maintenance routines. Sometimes I have been in half an unexpected problem which has been almost impossible of solving quickly without internet in the same computer/OS . Of course there are different point of views, but I consider a second PC without internet is a bit a waste of money and resources.
