It doesn't have to be a drum machine type of thing but I would just rather not have it a pitched instrument. There are times I just want to work on rhythm without thinking of pitch yet.

I found a fair number of apps, but seem to be either pitched, can't export midi, or are loop based (so you have 8, 16 bars) kind of thing.

The other thing I've run into are the drum grid/machine pattern programs. Not that either.

Oh yeah, LOW latency would be needed. So many have too much lag.


Unfortunately Android does not have low latency i/o built in like iOS does. That is why there are countless music making apps for iOS and nearly none for Android, even though the user base is way more Android phones than iPhones

There are a few developers trying to make instruments for Android but my understanding is that they have to write their own code for intaerfacing the data inside the device. iOS has Core Audio and Core Midi as part of the OS just waiting there for the developer to build upon
