You would think that after this many years I would know how to do this. I have many songs that have Realtrack audios and a midi melody. I want to convert these all over to audio so I can convert these to MP3, WMA, etc.

What I want to do is to arm a single track in RB to record the audio output of one of my MIDI modules. All of the MIDI modules audio outputs are connected to my audio interface. It would seem that if I tell RB which input to use, I could arm an audio track and record just that as the MIDI plays. I do not want to use the internal DXi's but instead want to record the audio output of the MIDI modules.

I can do this with both Cakewalk and Reaper but can this be done with RB?

Would appreciate your insight into this.

Jeff

Yep
Instead of 'arming a track' just select a new blank track in RB, then go into Options-Preferences-Audio-Drivers (button)
Select (only) the audio inputs you want to record to your new blank track.

This assumes your MIDI module's outputs are audio out from the synth to the audio in of your interface ..
You may need to route things correctly in your audio interface to record it as it plays, but it is very much possible to do this (if I understand the question).

Thanks Rharv, still playing with this but with your help I'll get there yet. Its so much easier to do in Reaper and Cake, don't understand why I'm having a problem in RB.

I've done this many times in RB. Think about the signal path.
MIDI out to synth, and audio from synth back to computer.
Then, is the target recording track type MIDI or Audio?
You want to record Audio in the end (from the synth), right? So it should be Audio (probably stereo audio)

Then it's a matter of getting the MIDI to the synth (including selecting the correct MIDI out driver in RB)
You may even have to uncheck the box for 'Reroute all MIDI to default synth'.
Or there might be a way using the available Ports for that track, but that's more complicated.

Then the audio from the synth into the computer
with the correct audio input driver selected

Test 1
Does the MIDI out get to synth?
Listen to synth (with headphones plugged into synth directly) while the song plays to eliminate any other possibility.

Test 2
Is audio getting to computer?
Your audio interface and the input meter in RB should give clues on how far along the audio signal is getting from the synth jacks to the DAW.

If RB is the only thing not showing the audio signal it's likely driver selections.

Do you have a midi cable connected from your midi interface to your midi module that you will need that way the track invented the Box will play the module and then will be recorded

Right, the MIDI records fine from the keyboard, to the MIDI module, to the MIDI interface and then to "box" with RB or my DAW. What I want to do is take a track with pre-recorded MIDI and record the audio from the MIDI module as the songs plays that MIDI track.

This is very easy to do in Cake and somewhat less so in Reaper, but seems to be more of an issue with RB. It seems like Rharv said its an issue of getting the right audio routing of the audio drivers both in and out.

While I can get this to work for all midi tracks at once in RB. what I'm trying to do is to be able to select a specific track to record the audio from without having to go in each time and change the audio routing of the drivers in RB.

Still a work in progress.

FWIW I tried to say that you need to get the MIDI out to the synth
Then record the AUDIO out of the synth back in to RB.

Selecting the correct audio drivers is part of the equation, regardless of DAW.

You can also use various MIDI ports in RB (which allows sending just a single track to the synth, while other MIDI tracks get routed elsewhere).

Your sig shows nice equipment available, surely doable.

This is way to simple to do but you do know tou must record in real time.
