This is the first slow air I composed in my early 20s, and it was at the request of a great friend Alan Shepherd. Alan at the time was the vice chairman of the Highland accordion & fiddle club and he asked me to compose slow air for the clubs annual concert at Eden Court theater here in Inverness. The tune was to be played by the guest band of the night which was James Coutts. ( Wonder if James remembers that ? ) So, the tune was called a tribute to the late Mrs. Helen Shepherd, and I believe it's been recorded by a couple of folk including my old pal Sarah-Jane Summers , now staying in Norway. The piano backing was created by band in a box, which is a wonderful piece of kit developed by PG Music in Canada, the strings were created there too, but as a midi file and swapped over to my reason synth studio. Hope you all enjoy this one.
