Hi John,
I tried your suggested remedy with mixed results. In noteworthy I was able to change the time signature and this appeared to work well for the first six or seven bars then it started to get out of sync. I imported it into Sonar which was set up prior as a 3/4 project and this did the job of 3/4 but it seemed out of sync.
I've now just realised that I came across this problem with this same file about a year ago when I was experimenting with RealBand. As I recall I had to use the midi editor in Sonar to sort it out and actually shrink the midi notes to fit. That did work but I wouldn't want to make a habit of it.
When I loaded it into the MidiYodi editor it does display 4/4 but no time signature events occur so perhaps this is just the default.
I would be happy for you to look at, if its just to be aware of how to handle this type of file in the future.
I don't know to send it to you though.
