I just thought I would share a wild experience. My wife and I semi-watch The Voice. We catch what we catch of it. One guy kind of looked familiar but I didn't think too much of it.

As it turns out I've very briefly talked with him twice! John Holiday is a professor at a small college near me, Lawrence University. It's under 2,500 students. I have taken several drone shots for them. During one of the shoots he happened to be out there and chatted with me a little bit. He said he was a professor there and went right in to asking questions about the drone and flying. Really nice guy. It was much of a convo though because I was flying at the time.

The next time I was at the music store that is very near the campus, it's about 5 miles from us. I was with my daughter getting flute music for her. He walked up and said "Hey! Aren't you the drone guy?" and that sparked a short conversation where he mentioned he was a professor of voice, and encourage my daughter. Again, really nice guy.

I did not figure out until this week that that was him on The Voice finals! I'm not going to pretend to KNOW him; but talent is all around us. There sure are a lot of talented people out there. Pretty wild!
