I'm using the Style _SJAZZP1.STY Smooth Jazz Poppy Rhythm. I have a bar with Fm9 on beat 1 and Abmaj7, C#9 on beats 3 & 4 with 1/8 push on them. I would like everyone to push but the drummer - would like for the drums to just stay straight. But it sounds like the drummer fell off the throne! I'm sure it has to do with the style but is there an option to turn that off? Also most of the soloist don't do well with pushes. I tend to generate another copy of the tune without pushes to generate solos. Anyone with ideas on flexibility with pushes?

As a suggestion, generate the song without any pushes, then freeze the drum track, then add the pushes and generate again.

I’ll give that a try. Would fix the drum problem but not the soloists. May be easiest to maintain 2 versions of the tune. Or just keep generating parts and bringing them into my DAW. Just trying to find the best workflow without breaking up creativity.

Use Videotrack’s approach and just freeze the soloists track(s) as well as the drums. Then add the pushes and regenerate the remaining tracks.
A new alternate method is now possible: copy the tracks you like to Utility Tracks. They won’t regenerate. Then add pushes and mute the original tracks.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve just started using the multi-riff feature as I can never get a single take solo so I edit multiple takes in my DAW. I’ll try utility tracks to see if that helps my workflow. 2 versions has been working but I’m always looking for a better way. Thanks again.

In the dialog box did you try push everything but the drums?
Not guaranteeing that will work, depends on the style.

Bob - I see options for Rest, Shots, and Holds to exclude instruments but not for pushes. Am I missing something?
