I'm sure the thing was meant to be a joke. I surely didn't take it seriously--made my eyes cross and I didn't even finish reading it.

The year I had to practice sight-singing every single doggoned day kinda marked me, and now I automatically start doing it when I see any string of numbers (including the confirmation number from paying a bill online, oy). Couldn't resist trying it on this one, but honestly, it's really kinda weird and not my cuppa tea at all.

If you've ever had the chance to see and try to understand common core math..... it's no joke. Someone actually thought that up and thought it was easier than the old school method.

My daughters would ask for help with their math homework.... how hard can 6th grade math be? 10 problems.... slap the numbers on paper.... carry the one... waaa laaa... there's your answer. Nope.... it's not that easy.
