I am on BIAB 2020 (build 324) and MacOS 10.14.6, but I get the same error in BIAB 2019. When I save a midi file to disk, BIAB states an error message "no drum style is loaded, cannot pick for bar #xxx". The bar number varies with different songs, but is generally outside the region of the actual song. If I play the song first, the error message does not appear. Why is this happening and how can I fix it ?

Welcome to the forums, Martin! The latest builds for the 2019 version is 325, and for the 2020 version 423. They can be downloaded and installed from here: https://www.pgmusic.com/support_macintoshupdates.htmWhen you say that the message doesn't appear if you play the song first, do you mean the regular play button or the re-generate and play button (play with a + sign)? Tracks need to be re-generated before they can be exported/rendered.

In addition to updating, like Chantelle mentioned, this problem is often fixed by resetting Band-in-a-Box. You can do this by going to Options > Return To Factory Settings.

Hello!
If the soft reset doesn't work, you can always do a hard factory reset instead. To do this, you can try the following:
Please close out of the program and go to Finder | Applications | Band-in-a-Box | Preferences and try deleting the content of the preferences folder but not the folder itself. Then re-launch the program.
