Yes I agree with you on that. Up till version 4 it was working really well for me. Especially on my Mac, but even on PC it was fairly solid. The only issue was that a couple features were not quite where they should be. Still I could do a reasonable amount of work.
I just really encourage patience with this version. There are some great feature upgrades. I from conversations with some in the know feel confident that the dev team will iron these out this year. I really hope sooner than later. Keep making a list of the things that are not working I thought 2022 had these functions. If it doesn't, we can only continue to wait patiently

Band-in-a-Box 2026 Video: AI Stems & Notes - split polyphonic audio into instruments and transcribe
This video demonstrates how to use the new AI-Notes feature together with the AI-Stems splitter, allowing you to select an audio file and have it separated into individual stems while transcribing each one to its own MIDI track. AI-Notes converts polyphonic audio—either full mixes or individual instruments—into MIDI that you can view in notation or play back instantly.
