Hi. I just installed 2020 UltraPAK upgrade for Windows into a new power laptop (64 GB RAM, 516 GB SSD, Intel Core i/-7820HQ etc). After a couple of days downloading and installing I got the RealTracks and Drums working from an outside HD of 3 TB. But: when I tried to print the music sheet to pdf, first came "You must install pdf995... When I did, it claimed that it was installed, but went back to prompting that I should install pdf995. I rebooted the laptop, but it didn't help. When I tried to print to printer, whic I had installed, the BiaB shutted and gave a prompt "You must install pdf995 before running the license key generator". So what to do? I have updated to the latest version build 912. Is this a known bug that PG is going to fix? I have reported this to PG techs, but haven't got any answer yet.
Can I clarify, did you just install BIAB 2020 or BIAB 2022? It may matter for the answer.
PDF995 is bundled free with BIAB, or at least I know it was in prior years - not sure now. But this is only one of many ways to get a PDF. I use a different one called Cute PDF. They are not dependent on BIAB in any way; they are only alternate printer drivers.

Sorry. Of course 2022 BiaB. Until now I haven't had problems with pdf995, but a lot of problems with printing, which I have reported to PG. They have admitted they have an issue there with bar based notes, which I use and not the note based notes.
Yes but how to print pdfs in BiaB, when it wants you to first install pdf995 and after that you go back to the ask of installing? It's a loop, bug? Where can I choose another pdf printer? That is: no use, if Windows have a pdf printer, when BiaB don't connect to it. There's no way to set another pdf printer then the pdf995 wanted.
Thanks, but your hint didn't help. I selected from the Printer setup Microsoft Print for PDF > BiaB stopped and came warning ”Access violation at address...” > I send the report as email to PG and I had to shut down BiaB from Windows stop process.

It looks like some of your fonts are not properly installed. Have yout tried using different fonts?
Following on from Jim Fogle's post above about using the Microsoft PDF printer. This might or might not help. I'm posting it in case it is useful information.
1) Click on the "Set up Printer" button that Jim Fogle shows.
2) Select the "Microsoft Print to PDF" (#1 on the image).
3) Click on OK (#2 on the image).
4) Now click on "OK - Print". (#3 on the image).

If that doesn’t work then as two people told you download cute pdf and install. Look I’m with you and I really do understand wanting it to work as it has in the past but finding a solution is far better than continuing to fight what doesn’t work. Maybe they will address this issue soon and you can go back to the old way, until then don’t get hung up in what you can’t do.

I have really tried a way to print, tried all the advices I have got from PG and this Forum. Even installed CutePdf. But haven't yet found solution. Have you tried to print with 2022 Edition for Windows music sheets with bar based lyrics and notes? If you succeeded please tell me how you did it.
It's working properly for me using the built in "Print to PDF" W10 feature, I'm not doing anything special, just selecting my printer and then clicking on Print. Describing with more detail the exact steps you're following (so other users can do exactly what you're doing) might help to figure out what your problem could be.
Is the MS built in "Print to PDF" virtual printer working properly with other programs? What about CutePDF? Have you tried with any other virtual printers?
Regarding PDF995, The problem is that PDF995 needs to be run as admin to install properly. I would have expected the advice you got from tech support to resolve the problem, provided you ran the installer as administrator. Here is how to fix the problem:
1. Close Band-in-a-Box. 2. Delete the C:\PDF995 folder. 3. Find the main 2022 program installer that you downloaded, and run it (ie. bandinabox_realband_2022.exe) 4. When you get to the installer wizard screen that has the component list, select PDF995, which is at the bottom of the list. You can de-select everything else. 5. Finish the install and it should then work. You can double-check the C:\PDF995 folder exists and has several files in it.
As mentioned, PDF995 is not really necessary these days, since most systems have other drivers to print PDFs. However it does still work great on Windows 10 in my testing (I'm using bbw64.exe build 912).
Regarding the error/crash when printing, I cannot yet duplicate that problem printing songs with bar lyrics. It could be something specific about the files you are printing, or some pattern in your workflow, or a printer driver problem - not sure. I suggest that you first resolve the PDF995 problem as above - should only take a minute - and then test again. If it still happens, please reply to tech support with an example Band-in-a-Box song file (.MGU or .SGU), and list the exact steps you are taking to print even if it seems trivial to you.
