Is there a way to get power chords generated with either midi and/or realtracks?

what we used to call a 'power chord' on a guitar is the root and the fifth on two adjacent strings. page 393 of the current BIAB manual lists C5 under 'tricky chords'! whether that will give you the effect of a guitar power chord i don't know. missing the third means the chord is neither major nor minor but played hard with distortion it's a rock guitar staple!

I tried C5 but after hitting Enter the 5 disappears. I must be missing something here.

Please tell us what version of BIAB you have, and for PC or Mac?

C5 definitely was working as far back as 2021.

Just typed it in and it accepted the C5 format for all the chord entries. But when I looked at the notation, it did not appear to stick to root and fifth in any of the chords. I supposed there are ways to simplify the chords to see if that will help. But at the moment I got other problems .

Yes to both.
My thinking was that the OP may have an older version of BIAB that didn’t support this chord. However, there was a recent report that, while accepted for entry, the 5 power chord seems to be sometimes playing the third of the chord (which should not happen).

I have v2022 build 918. And I notice it is working when I tried again. Sorry, I don't know what happened the first time I tried.

There is a known issue where sometimes when a 7 or minor (or other addition to a triad chord) is entered, it disappears from the Chords view. This only happens under specific circumstances and even though it is not shown in the Chords view, it is still played properly by the tracks. This will be fixed in a future build update.
