There are many services that replace USB ports. Usually $40-$50. I would try ebay.

My son pulled a charging cord on his wireless JBL speaker and broke USB port. I was uncomfortable doing it myself, so I bought a service from one of these guys on ebay. Turnaround was less than 2 weeks from sending it.
P.S. Something you can try (AT YOUR OWN RISK!) You said that you can jiggle it at in comes on for brief while.
It could be that the port at solder points got detached or there is poor socket to plug connection. You can try deforming cable plug about 1mm, so it makes a tighter connection to see if it helps. *Again, at your own risk!
