I can take this with me.
The velocity issue is not a big deal in that case. FWIW, I would really struggle without velocity sensitivity, not so much from playing, though that matters to me, but more because everything sounds the same all the time and I very rapidly get bored with the sound. I have a lightweight 49-key MIDI controller keyboard, that's also easy to carry around. I plug into my notepad PC and listen on headphones.
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful.
