It does not require any outside power. Or external speakers. Or an additional device (laptop). Folded, it's about the size of a shoe box. I'm impressed by what it actually does deliver. Sure, it can't deliver every nuance of a real piano, and it doesn't suggest to, however, it is remarkably impressive in terms of its included feature set and compact size. I have to fully agree with both of those statements. ... And for the money. BTW, I did get the impression that it may have had a little hint of velocity sensitivity ... perhaps conductive rubber contacts allowing a little bit of "guesstimation" at what the velocity might have been.
Jazz relative beginner, starting at a much older age than was helpful.
