No. Song project file extensions are generally program specific. That is because a song project file not only contains audio files but can also contain midi files as well as program specific data such as track information and program settings.

On the other hand WAV and AIF are considered universal audio file extensions while MID and SMF are midi extensions by specification. Almost all computer programs that work with audio can manage one, or the other, or both audio file extensions and midi.
