Thanks for the corrections! What I've learned is that there's apparently no word that an Aussie doesn't think can't be improved by turning it into slang.

A favorite Tom Waits songs is "Town With No Cheer", with the lyric:
now it's boilin' in a miserable March twenty-first
wrapped the hills in a blanket of Patterson's curse
Only he got the seasons a bit wrong, living up here in the Northern Hemisphere.
I considered asking someone to review this, and then figured it would be good for a giggle for someone what actually
spoke the slang. A bit like listening to someone who almost, but doesn't
quite pull of an accent.
