I have had EZBass for a long time. It is not great. It will be interesting to see what the next iteration will sound like.

Part of the answer is Trillian, but it is pricy at $279.

What is needed is an excellent set of midi bass patterns. What exists in EZBass is pretty generic.

Even with Superior Drummer matching a bass line with the drum line is difficult.

My ability to play live bass is from a guitar player's perspective. The same thing happens if I play the bass line on the piano.

The most challenging thing I have ever had to try to deal with is the drummer and, to a lesser extent, the bass player.

Some styles of music are slightly less drum and bass dependent. A super strong vocal can distract the listener enough to disregard the bass and drums to a point. But...

Drums and Bass are absolutely critical to a good song. If you don't got a bottom, you don't got a band!

“Amazing! I’ll be working with Jaco Pastorius, Charlie Parker, Art Tatum, and Buddy Rich, and you’re telling me it’s not that great of a gig?
“Well…” Saint Peter, hesitated, “God’s got this girlfriend who thinks she can sing…”
