I have an .sgu file that is 803KB is size. This BIAB song file includes, on the audio track, an mp3 file which was 4.3MB when I inserted it. All loads and plays fine. But... when I copy the .sgu file to send to coloaborator, the file is only 803KB and I can only assume there is no Audio track with it. I will confirm soon when the recipient tells me that.
OK, confirmed by recipient - there is no Audio content on the Audio track of the .sgu file. So where is the content stored? And the fact that this portion of the song is not stored with the file (meaning included in the .sgu) is a bit of a bust, isn't it?
I think I knew all of this, never really needed to share a .sgu for collaboration in the past. But I don't remember anyone in the past complaining about this. Or am I just getting ornery in my old age. Now where is that snickers bar when I need it?
The audio file is not attached to the .sgu file. It is sent as an audio file. WAV, Mp3, M4a in a windows version of BIAB.
Even though you may choose not to use it, a useful tool to know what the different files that my be necessary to share a BIAB project with another user is to access the 'email song files as attachment feature'.
Yes, I've asked about this. Or at least I think this speaks to your question. To send a file to someone, you should first freeze it, and also send the audio. Another way to says this is, and you didn't ask about frozen, that the frozen BIAB song file does not contain the audio, only instructions how to play it.

OK, so the 'email song files as attachment feature' is typical of what a DAW may do to move multiple files. I can work with that.
Too bad when I tried this it crashed my e-mail app! Had to reboot the computer to fix the locked MS Outlook 365 app. I am afraid to try again... Any one else used this feature in the past year??

Good question. I think this is stored in the Registry somewhere. Similar to your default browser, etc.
