fj Hi Floyd, The story is at least 85% true of my early upbringing. And thank you so much for the very kind comments on everything. The lyric came pretty easily - just a couple of hours from the first word until last. The band is pretty much generic to the style - I did replace the fiddle, though. I probably spent 4 - 5 hours total on the song over a span of two days. Again, I appreciate everything you said. Alan
