I empathise with you. I grew in up country Australia and my situation was pretty much the same as yours. I remember kerosene lamps and kerosene fridges. We had tank water and when we needed hot water, we had to make it ourselves. I also remember my mother washing clothes in an large copper boiler like the one below in the picture. This was also used to heat water for our baths. Everyone I knew had outside toilets. Life was so different then.

I'd forgotten all about these things until your song brought the memories flooding back. Now I'm sitting here smiling as I remember things. That's for activating those wonderful memories that I haven't thought of in over 60 years. I had a great childhood, and it's amazing to think that I've kept so much information locked away inside my head for so long!

You always leave me at a loss for words in my efforts to reply to your always very kind reviews.

The troubadour comment put a smile on my face! In a round-about way, I kind of did that. back in the 1960s our band played all the neighboring towns at bars, lounges, BBQs, weddings, fraternal lodges, etc. And yes, our childhood years very, indeed, very similar.

I'm delighted to have brought back some good memories for you. It's my opinion that music, in one way or another, should leave the listener in a happy place. I', so happy it did so for you. I appreciate you letting me know that.
