I saw a discussion about this sort of thing on the DistroKid site the other day.

It occurred to me that a bad actor could easily take down a musician's revenue stream by hiring out a bunch of bots.

Since there's no way of knowing who hired the bots, the streaming services simply assume that it was the musician and automatically de-list their music.

There's really nothing a musician can do to defend against something like that. frown
