Hi Jason -
Band-in-a-Box supports any keyboard layout, but we also use Option+3 as a hot key (mutes bass track), so that blocks direct input of the hash symbol into the chord sheet in this case.
However, you should be able to just hit the 3 key to get the # into the chord sheet. No need to switch keyboards.
