Here's the latest song from my studio. I hope you enjoy this. Definitely more on the acoustic side of things. Select your favorite listening medium and turn it up.

Goodbye

The band is:
364 & 365 finger picking acoustic guitar
624 fiddle
3121 acoustic bass
2169 & 3073 Dobro
Kevin singing lead
Solaria singing duet harmony

Note: the vocals are pushed and delayed intentionally.

Goodbye my friend

[Verse 1]
Goodbye my friend
We'll meet again someday
Roads we walked together
Now fading in the haze
Seasons keep on changing
Sun will fall and rise
Memories in the making
Hold them close in mind

[Chorus]
Goodbye my friend
Until we meet again
Love is never ending
Goodbye my friend

[Verse 2]
Miles that lay between us
Time that never slows
Still I feel your presence
Wherever the wind blows
Life just keeps on moving
Round and round it spins
We'll see each other some day
In places dreams begin

[Chorus]
Goodbye my friend
Until we meet again
Love is never ending
Goodbye my friend

Cool work.
Te synthetic sibilant stuff is a bit bright.
Good band, good melody, good, good work.

Herb,

A beautifully written song.

The voices blend so well together. Love the acoustic instrumentation.

I can feel time and the seasons moving in this one...

Wistful, melanchonic and reflective. Really, really, really beautiful. Memories, alike looking through one's diary after a long time's worth of entries. A wonderful achievement - really well done.

What a nice song, and a very soothing BiaB arrangement. The mix is very open and airy, and allows the vocals to shine. Maybe intentional, but the vocals, especially the lead, have a more robotic feel than I enjoy. Others will feel differently, I just found it a little distracting. But I REALLY love your song and the beauty of the arrangement. Cool stuff.

Beautiful, and I LOVE these harmonies.
Beautiful sparse instrumentation that supports the song perfectly.
The girl's reverb is a bit bright, but if the reverb is a send and not an insert, it's trivial to fix.
It's minor issue anyway, love the song as it is.
A lot!

I love the simplicity of the chorus. Sometimes we try and be too creative and it falls flat but this gets right to the heart, so well done! Big fan of the fiddle and dobro fills!

I've always loved this kind of simple, harmony filled, acoustic music. Getting a chance to write something that works in this style is a treat. Mountain folk music with a modern twist.

Thanks for listening.

Sweet sound in the melody and instrumentation, with a touch of melancholy. Voices work well, especially in the harmonies.

Yeow, Herb. Sweet sounds right from the getgo. That fiddle adds such a fine touch, and the whole group adds the right elements of support. If you hadn't mentioned the vocal delay, I wouldn't have noticed. It seems so appropriate for the lyrics and feel. Sweet sounds, sir.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Herb, this is a good write and I especially like that fiddle.
Your use of BiaB is masterful.
Your arrangement conjures up emotional sadness with a dash of hope.
Great job.

For me there’s no better place in the band than to have one leg in the harmony world and the other in the percussive. Thank you Paul Tutmarc and Leo Fender.
