Gumshoe Blues

You are a 1940's detective (gumshoe) working on a homicide case. Dressed in your proper attire of a three piece suit, suspenders, a wide tie, a fedora and with a cigarette dangling from your mouth you slowly walk down a dark alley toward the scene of the crime all of the time wondering "where in hell is that music coming from"!

BiaB Style - Blues Wolf - Slow Blues Shuffle
Tempo - 60 BPM

I deleted the strings and piano
Bass- Ample Bass - upright bass
Guitar - UVI Workstation - Jazz Guitar Full
Drums- Steven Slate's SSD 5 - Jazz Brushes

The piano track is from EZSKeys2

Via my breath and keyboard controllers I am playing the Swam Tenor Sax.

As always all comments are welcomed.

Thanx so much Robert. I though the gumshoe description was spot on for that era also.

Very smokey and cool, Mario. That sax is SO nice. LOVE the emphasis on the bent notes, that's a nice touch. An excellent tune once again!

I like the blurb! Wondering where the music was coming from made me laugh.

It was a summer night. Dusky and humid, when I heard this slow sax music ooze out from the shadows.
This smokin' dame appears. She comes up to me and says in a husky voce, "That ain't no sax, mister. That's Mario playing a Swam." She paused and smiled. "He does other great thing with his mouth, too."
I paled. That's too much information, Ma'am," I replied. "Sure, I used to play soccer for the English club, Private Investigators FCD, but I'm long retired."
"FCD?" she queried.
"For Clever Dicks."
"Oh."
I turned my back on her and strolled away, the sound of that sombre Swam thing kinda making everything okay."

Hi Mario, loved the tune but not quite sure about the end, it seemed a little abrupt to me. Also you forgot the trench coat. These guys all wore one.
Cheers

It's certainly atmospheric, Mario. The only thing I would change would be the jazz brushes. I'd have them brushing the snare rather than the cymbals (or at least alternating here and there). Still, if you like it just the way it is, that's fine and dandy wink

HAHA. Where indeed. Love those dark scenes in those 40s movies where the lone gumshoe waits and watches --probably raining, although he's tucked safely in a dark doorway. But, yeah, where is that music coming from? I once found it New Orleans, a lone sax player in a dark alley. Sounds like you hired that guy for this one. Spendid write, Mario. Always such a treat listening to what comes out of your mind.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Thanx for the snare idea. I didn't think about that but that is a good idea.

Man, what a great description.
It is much appreciated by J&B whom have read a lot of detective fiction from that era.

Love that sax! Getting a bit of a Lester Young vibe from it.

Great band and production all around.

Enjoyed it!

Very atmospheric Mario. Clever stuff with the sax.
Watch out for the ciggie sticking to your lips.
