Hmm, so it does. I was sure it didn't because I've struggled before with downloading and installing thigs where "I'm sure I've done this before".
Certainly in 2024 and presumably 2025 both the standalone and built-in installers do know things have been installed.
I can't say if my memory of that was faulty, or it's been improved, but it looks good now.
