I am editing a track midi and need the bass guitar part ( in bass clef) to reach notes above middle C ledger line. I'm other words, I need to add ledger lines above the staff of the bass clef. Tech support said to "simply split the staff above middle C". I've tried and I've had friends try and we simply can't figure out how to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've searched the forums but can't seem to return a responsive answer. Suggestions?

Hi Jimi-Garcia, Go into "Options | Preferences" and then select "Notation". Now set the split point to C6 (it is normally set to C4). If you do that, the notation won't change into treble cleft until it is higher than the B above middle C. You can also adjust the number of ledger lines here if you need to. That is, note-entry is achieved by clicking on the treble clef but the display will be ledger lines above the bass clef. Good info. I will add that guitar and bass sound an octave below the written notation.
You can go into Preferences, MIDI Channels (I think) and see entries such as-1 in the second column making this adjustment for MIDI.
