lobster.

heres my best recommendation...

the other app that works with creative look at the other apps settings and use same driver settings in ptw.
please post back a graphic showing your driver settings in the other app that works with creative.
what other app ??

frankly often its not worth the hassle and problems as interfaces designed specifically for music production are dirt cheap these days eg the esi uno which even has zero latency monitoring...

i dont know your country but if were me i would go to a store if one is nearby and rent for a few days some cheap proper usb audio interfaces and see which one works best with ALLof your computers and music applications like powertracks etc...
now some nterfaces will even now work with tablets ipads if you ever need that.

Well, I don't use any other app. than PTW4 for the purpose of checking the midi files
obtained with it.
That would be a lost of time!!, I'm swiss, we check time.
My Soundcraft MTK12 mixer has a really good designed USB driver, and PTW4 is a cheap alternative to get all together.
I connected all my gear to a USB Hub, and from there to the laptop.
No need to buy any other extra commercially available interfaces, nowing that all USB gear work fine with such Hub.! Everything else is for making money.
Until this issue with those pop-ups, I never had such experience before.

I thing with this, considere to leave it stay, as long I don't experience any other more important fact. There is no clue about.
thanks!

PS. By the way looking into google search,

found a :https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=549064

I will check it , maybe there is some information useable, you haven't seen it probably, I guess! or not refered too!

PTW4 is. Are you saying it is the 2024 version? try this setup. use straight MME audio and sound mapper see if that gets you moving.

One thing that makes it hard to help you is you seldom really answer the questions we ask. You never responded as to what PTE4 is, Powertracks 4 was made many years ago but the picture looks like a newer GUI. Just because the soundcraft has as you said a really good driver that does not mean that it works well with PTW. On one screen shot you have multiple inputs highlighted, but USB from a mixer is usually stereo only. In other screenshots a couple are highlighted this could be the issue, but when we make suggestions and you don't follow up. Do this and let me know what happens.

1. Unplug the mixer
2. open PTW and go to options/return to default
3. open preferences and go to audio, choose MME, choose the input and output for your computer.
4. Load a new demo song (BB folder / Realtracks demos)
5. Generate and play.

Comeback and tell us what happens. Just remember this stuff can be easy but at the same time not all drivers are created equal. I have seen many cause serious issues over the 25 years i have been using software recording software. The folks here will go a million miles to help you but you have to help them help you!

Thanks for your remarks!
Probably I haven't had a clear answer, I do use Powertracks since the 90, before came the version audio Powertracks 4.
Never experience that what was going on about that pop-ups!
In the meantime, I have a new laptop, and will continue to check if that issue again will appear .
Windows 11 is somehow reponsable for that kind of issues, but can assure it with certainty, have no proove, but suspect.
Regarding Soundcraft driver and Powetracks, must say it works fantastic. As I got that mixer, came with it the free version of Ableton, using it allows only max. 6 channels, therefore I turn to PTW4, will resulted in a very good solution.
I record my sequences strait out of the mixer, I play organ and other keys, drum maschine included , midi and audio, perfect. ; sometimes midi showed "holes" among phrases. This should not happen now with my new laptop (RAM 16).
All that I write had less to do that issue, I try to explain my stand of experience.
Thanks for your explanation, anyway.
Will see how it work with my new laptop.

That's likely the problem there - that's a computer from around 2010, and I believe you mentioned you had Windows 11? The computer doesn't meet the operating system's requirements.

Is that also the case with the Sound Blaster cards? Which model of Sound Blaster are they, and which operating system is on those computers?

This could also be the case with the 12 MTK mixer - the most recent driver for it was released in 2019, which was 2 years before Windows 11.

Hi, there, yes I do had that laptop working (now I bought as new with Win 11 compliance, updated to Win 11 23H2, not yet 24H2, which by the way had issues), however , and I am not sure about timeline, but before I updated to PTW version year 2024, had that 2022 version working and didn´t had those pop-ups.
I am not saying , the new version is the reason why, I don´t know.
My MTK , think isn´t making the problem, because just doing Midi strait out from my gear to PTW, came always that pop-up.
I might take a control , as soon it´s ready, because I´m reinstalling all my stuff on the new laptop.
Will get back to respond more accurately.

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!

Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.

Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.

Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!

And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
