Keyboard Sustain Pedal not working [Resolved] #845070 03/05/25 10:01 AM Band-in-a-Box for Windows

OP Jimi-Garcia Newbie J Joined: Feb 2022 Posts: 13	I found an very old post regarding this problem but it didn't really have a resolution. I have latest BIAB and up-to-date Win 11 Pro. Keyboard works fine but sustain pedal (going through Channel 1, CC Type #64 Sustain Pedal, Variable range 0-127) is not operative. Need suggestions on how to trouble shoot and get this working. Thanks

This would also work for your sustain pedal. If there is response from the keyboard but not the sustain pedal, I would suspect the pedal itself, or the connection from the pedal into your keyboard. What model keyboard are you using? BIAB & RB2026 Win.(Audiophile), Windows 10 Pro & Windows 11, Cakewalk Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Session Keys Grand S & Electric R, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M, Pioneer Active Monitors.

Combine that with the fact that mine works fine I thought I would first show my midi monitor below. Now if yours is the same as mine than your problem is in the configuration of Options-midi/audio driver Setup. I have shown that on my system also below. It must be checked to record CC64. The picture shows my unchecked setting, this I can not record CC64. Note that I do not record in BiaB so this is not a problem for me. Even though I don't record in BIAB, I do have that check box checked in the Midi Record window. So that may explain why mine is working when I simply play the piano. Options/return to factory settings/most When weird things like this happen here a return to factory settings almost always solves the problem. {edit} Another thing to try is to uncheck that CC64 option, close BiaB, restart BiaB, and recheck CC64. If you change the instrument patch to a 'Piano', does the sustain function work then? Regarding factory reset are you saying full on everything factory reset? If so I have half a notion to just do a total reinstall but this time not install RealBand since I don't use it (use CuBase). Turns out, on the VST instrument that I am using for piano (Arturia Piano V2) there is a MIDI config option that was sending sustaing through 128 and not 64. Thank you everyone for you help. You guys led me to the answer!

Band-in-a-Box 2026 Video: AI Stems & Notes - split polyphonic audio into instruments and transcribe

This video demonstrates how to use the new AI-Notes feature together with the AI-Stems splitter, allowing you to select an audio file and have it separated into individual stems while transcribing each one to its own MIDI track. AI-Notes converts polyphonic audio—either full mixes or individual instruments—into MIDI that you can view in notation or play back instantly.
