I am assuming the lower and higher pitch parts are man and woman respectively? If so, you did a wonderful job of making the melody and intonation speak for each partner. I am sure I heard the man talk of his sadness, remorse, loneliness, seeking forgiveness, and a gentle longing for the companionship of the lady. Likewise, the lady higher pitch said similar things, but I felt almost with a slightly more happy tone - whether that was a trick of the harmony pitch (e.g. more 3rds and 6ths) - I don’t know.
The 3/4 time also gave me the impression they were confessing their love for each other while looking at each other and slow dancing.
