She's Got A Kid on Soundcloud She's Got A Kid on YouTube A song maybe about overcoming rumors. I played bass and sang. She's Got A KidTime will tell ya cuz I got to say goodbye. I didn't know she had a kid. See, I'm driftin' and I need that clear blue sky, and all the gold that nature hid. I'm on my weary way. She's got a kid and I can't stay. I'm a loner, spending days upon my horse. At night my sky fills up with stars. I need to ride, but feel a deep remorse. I'll write it down in my memoirs. There's one thing you should know. She's got a kid. I gotta go. I rode back in to town. She met me at her door. Told me I had it wrong; I didn't know the score. She told her friends about childish things I did. The rumors spread about her sexy kid. Me! Now not ridin' in the hills in search of gold. My lonely thoughts wander home. No more driftin'. Time to put the gold on hold. Me and my horse no longer roam. Now everyone can see she's got a kid and it's me. She's now my pot of gold. She's got a kid, and it's me. What a fun song with a nice punchline in the end, creative songwriting. I don't know what genre this song is, or actually I do, it is Marty genre Some blues, some country and a lot of heart. Nice groove with the BIAB band, EZ & bass, expressive singing. The harmonica solo is simply superb, nice dialog with the vocals. Janne

Super cool tune, guys. Can I be the only one that thought from the post title that Bob Millard had fathered a kid? Ha! A lively toe tapper, and a LOT of fun, even with my brief confusion.

Hi Marty,
This is a great listen. It's an excellent write, an excellent arrangement and terrific performances. You and and Bob have really pulled out all the stops on this one. It was very easy to hear that a lot fun went into making this track. You've both done a great job.

Ok...I get it.... I thought this was about a woman who had a child whose daddy was Bob Milford. I was misreading the subject line.... The song is She's got a kid, with a guest musician playing the harmonica who's name is Bob Milford.
Nice song and good playing on that harp Bob!

As commented on YT, I was very much reminded of Steve McQueen as the bounty hunter in "Wanted: Dead of Alive" as he met so many ace ladies, but always rode on! Great song!

"She's Got a Kid" is a heartwarming and relatable track that perfectly captures the nuances of navigating love and attraction with a touch of reality. I think the song's strength lies in its honest and straightforward storytelling. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of the situation, avoiding clichés and instead offering a refreshing perspective.
The instrumentation is thoughtfully arranged, creating a mellow and inviting soundscape that complements the song's lyrical content. There's a simplicity to the music that allows the vocals and the story to take centre stage. The melody is catchy and memorable, and the overall vibe is easygoing and optimistic, despite the slightly complex subject matter.
Your unique and always great vocals are sincere and convey a genuine sense of emotion. I can feel the empathy and understanding in your delivery. It's a song that's both thoughtful and enjoyable, making one reflect on the complexities of modern relationships while tapping your foot along to the beat.
"She's Got a Kid" is a testament to your amazing songwriting ability Marty. It's a unique and charming song that was well worth a listen. For anyone looking for something a little different, with a touch of heart and a dose of reality, this track is definitely for you. Loved it

Coincidently I just finished a discussion of genres with Chris Spruit. Yep, I guess I have no respect for the pigeon-holing process. You're right, Bob did a great job agreeing with the vocal and expounding on the story. Hi, Marty.
Ha!
Fun write, and Bob did you good with his excellent harmonica playing. Hello, David. You know how you play the chord progression and eventually words start taking the place of your da-da-das. "She's got a kid and yadda da" was first. Next, yadda yadda was replaced by "and it's me." Since I didn't want it to be cornily all about me, I took the route of many guys I knew who were turned off by the thought of an instant family. The cowboy theme came with the words driftin' and clear blue sky. You are so right about Bob's excellent contribution. Hey team, cool western satire tune, clever word play. Excellent bass & harmonica playing. Vocals are clear and easy to make out without reading text. Solid mix. Thank you for sharing. Misha. Thanks for listening and your kind comment, Misha. It was a blast working with Bob. Super cool tune, guys. Can I be the only one that thought from the post title that Bob Millard had fathered a kid? Ha! A lively toe tapper, and a LOT of fun, even with my brief confusion. Thanks, Ron, and you are not alone. Seems a lot of titles followed by "on Soundcloud" or "on YouTube" end up humorous, and I thought this one would sound even more hilarious adding Bob's name. I'm sure his wife would do a double-take and have a few questions. Hi Marty,
This is a great listen. It's an excellent write, an excellent arrangement and terrific performances. You and and Bob have really pulled out all the stops on this one. It was very easy to hear that a lot fun went into making this track. You've both done a great job.
--Noel Thanks so much, Noel. You're right, we had a blast, and will have to do it more.

In my effort to be "Oh So Seriass" I forgot to mention Bob's amazingly great harp playing..................sorry Bob. Ah, Izzy, you are quickly becoming one of my favorite living writers. On the dead side it would be the author of I n His Own Write and A Spaniard In The Works. Seriassly. I wonder how many guys heard her talk about her baby, and split before realizing he was the babe. Yeah, through empathy I felt the guys pain, although I couldn't see why he reacted the way he did. When we talk about modern relationships, the guy had nothing to worry about. They coulda got divorced a few weeks later. Thanks, Izzy. Please write a book --about anything or nothing. Marty,

fj HAHA. Thanks for the vote, Floyd. Bob liked that one too. I always loved what Bob does on the chromatic harp, but the Blues requires the diatonic approach, and he was a delight. That's swinging, man! Fun lyrics. I dig that harmonica. Hoo hoo mama - Like that! Hi, Scott, and thanks. Bob liked that last line too.

That was a funny surprise for that cowboy! The clever lyric with your fun vocal and Bob’s happy harmonica made us both smile, Marty.
Great harp, bass and vocal performances. The BiaB players well supported y’all and the mix is very nice on the Kalis. As always your vid well complemented the narrative.
Cool and lots of fun!
