Sounds like a John Wayne movie but it has been a real nightmare for me.
I Got BiB 2025 for Mac and thought that I had somehow blown the installation after it started crashing on Mac OS Big Sur.
I decided to run the installer on a different machine which went without a single problem. I used BiB 2025 for a day while loading and checking on earlier files I had saved from my 2013 version. Everything loaded fine.
I shut the machine off that night and have been unable to launch BiB 2025 for Mac ever since. Just generates crash reports.
I've read some posts about multiple monitor issues and have unplugged all external everything and BiB 2025 still crashes seconds after launch. Then, MacOS hands you a crash report.
I've had Band-In-a-Box since 2004 and have never experienced any problems through all versions of Windows Since Win98.
It's ok though. I still have my 2013 version on Windows 10. I'll beg for an update like everyone else...

UPDATE:
Message back from BiaB Support:
Please go to Options | Return to Factory Settings. (Won't Launch so this obviously doesn't work)

If that does not resolve your issue, please close out of Band-in-a-Box (if it was open) and go to Finder | Applications | Band-in-a-Box | Preferences, please make a back up of any favourite styles/songs preferences you may have, and try deleting the content of the preferences folder, but not the folder itself. Then re-launch the program. This will return the program back to factory defaults. Please be aware that this will delete your program preferences, so if you want to save a copy of these files in a folder on your desktop first, you may. This will allow you to restore your preferences and favourites should this fix not work to resolve your issue.

Deleting the contents of the | Applications | Band-in-a-Box | Preferences Folder fixed the problem.
I'll keep testing.
