Yes, there is a significant lag when using the instruction set generation. The WAV generation works, but takes just as much time as the standalone version. So yes, the standalone version is better than the plugin in this regard, and it raises the question: why would we use the plugin if there's no time savings?

The plugin was supposed to offer fast ".WAV-less" generation with near-instant playback directly from disk, but if we still need to wait for full WAV rendering just like in the standalone application, the main advantage disappears. The only real benefit would be staying within the DAW workflow, but that convenience doesn't compensate for the lack of speed improvement.

Have you tested the "WAV-less" playback mode? That's supposed to be the feature that makes the plugin faster than traditional generation.
